January 6th is King's cake day, the tradition is widespread here in Switzerland, all the bakerys have promotions of this yeast raised, butter rich (slightly)sweet bread. One bun in each bread contains a hidden plastic king figure, he or she who finds this, gets to wear the accompanying golden (cardboard) crown and enjoy elevated king stature for the day.
for the dough , i stuck with tradition, made with AP flour (550)
milk made up 100% of the liquid, enriched with butter8%& white sugar. Brushed twice with egg wash. Stuck with almond slices.
A fine dust of powder sugar finishes the cake off.
